Kari Nienstedt is HSUS's Arizona State Director, responsible for the group's legislative and lobbying activities in that state. (Click here for HSUS's Arizona-specific Facebook page.)
Nienstedt has been an animal-rights activist since 1993, when she joined Farm Sanctuary as an intern, focusing on livestock farming issues. Nienstedt is a past recipient of Farm Sanctuary's Friend of Farm Animals Award.
In 2006, she was the campaign manager for Arizona's Proposition 204, which banned the use of veal stalls and hog gestation crates.
Since at least 2005, Nienstedt has run the "AZ-vegan" Yahoo mailing list
