Daily Humane Bites #9: Michael Vick (*shakes head in disgust*)
Daily clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail me with submissions for tomorrow.)
- Michael Vick continues his whitewash tour. (How could HSUS have endorsed him? *shakes head*)
- Ohio Congresman to Wayne Pacelle: Your money's no good here...
- Kansas State University students get a dose of the truth
- Missouri Soybean Association on HSUS: "[T]hey spend only $1 of every $200 that they receive for shelters that work with pets"
- Bakersfield, CA letter writer on HSUS's favorite California politician: "Thank goodness state Sen. Dean Florez is termed out"
-
HSUS buys its way into a California film festival
- Wayne Pacelle says public alarm over his vegan agenda is "just a smear campaign"
- Wisconsin alert: HSUS-drafted bill could threaten the status of animals as private property
- HSUS just picked up $370,000 in a courtroom bequest fight. Nice work if you can get it.
Also, we're on "Fundraising Watch" today: How long will it be before HSUS asks for money to rescue the dogs displaced by this weekend's Chilean earthquake? (And will HSUS actually show up?)

Here’s hoping Purina reads the K-State Collegian!
Re: Wisconsin…...since the animal rights’ goal is to eliminate animals as “property” by taking out an entire phrase or paragraph that refers to *returning animals to owners* upon acquittal/non conviction—this clearly indicates the intent to deprive owners of their property.
In CA last year, legislature passed (but Gov veto’d) a law which CRIMINALIZED selling of an animal outside, by claiming it was “abuse.” However—it was claimed NOT to be “abuse” if a rescue or Humane society did it. Nevertheless, those attempting to display/rehome animals, or meeting to transfer animals would have been guilty of “abuse” under this illegal law.
Most people didn’t even bother to understand the awful legal ramifications. For more than 6 years now, we have done nothing but tell people how bad the animal rights laws are legally. We are hopeful that this site will give a wider audience to that truth.
I’m amazed the Bakersfield Californian printed that email. They are usually excessively AR!

folks, we need to stay on top of these updates and make commentary when necessary to the subjects of the posts. Nebraska thinks they have nothing to fear- when they obviously are not realizing what is happening in Ohio right under their noses.
we need to keep repeating the message until it everyone who reads it understands it.
I blogged the following to Michael Vick’s site- maybe, just maybe, he will listen.
I remain hopeful.
