Daily Humane Bites #113: If B-list Stars Smooch HSUS and No One Reads About It, Is It News?

Daily clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail submissions for next week.)
- HSUS's celebrity-worship Facebook page is still up, but less than 250 fans "like" it (ouch!)
- HSUS New York leader sides with geese, calls feeding the homeless "unnecessary" (classy...)
- Ohio lawmaker: Buckeye Compromise will have a “negative impact on our communities and economy.”
- Your Daily Shelter: Illinois’s Benld Adopt-A-Pet (Donate. Volunteer. Adopt.)

How do we “like” the celebrity worship Facebook page? Where is it located? Also, I need some help with an issue that keeps me up at night: As a dog walker and dog daycare in NH, lately I have been overwhelmed with calls from young adults facing first pregnancies, changing apartments, and other life issues that prevent them from moving with their beloved Pit Bull. It’s horrible that MOST if not ALL landlords, particularly in the Manchester, NH area do not allow Pit Bulls. Now what happens to the lovely, friendly, feared dog? What can we do to help keep these pets with their owners and out of shelters? And, when in the shelter, few can adopt them because landlords won’t allow, and home owner’s insurance reject the owner? The dog pays the huge price. Please advise. Thank you.
