Great quote from Pacelle, ” I mean, I defy anyone to show me any statement where we say we want to eliminate animal agriculture.”
Has everyone heard the expression “Actions speak louder than WORDS”? The day he sits down and eats a 20oz T-bone from a cow he feels was humanely raised and slaughtered is the day I stop being paranoid.
We are not fooled, Whiny Wayne.
oh shut up Wayne…my response:
Oh, we believe you Wayne.
That’s why I regularly buy meat and other animal products from producers who are accepted by the H$U$ as humane producers.
What’s that you say? There AREN’T ANY? What about the egg producer who had your blessing for his cage free, all organic eggs? That’s right, you told him to STOP SAYING H$US APPROVED.
Of course, I only use recipes from the H$U$ for my animal agriculture products. What’s that you say? There AREN’T ANY? Don’t tell me that every single recipe on every single H$US owned site and publication is completely meat free and free of other animal agricultural products! It can’t be so!
And I certainly only get my companion animals from ethical breeders. I am that breeder. And did I just hear you and your minions say repeatedly there is no such thing as an ethical breeder? That everything everyone owns should be spayed and neutered before even attaining a safely breedable age? Am I not fighting diligently against just such laws in my home state, happily funded and heavily supported by H$US? Seems to me you would prefer nothing more than the extinction of my beloved breed- and if you can’t manage it through legislative processes, you’ll try to poison them by marketing a happyhappyjoyjoy sounding food like Humane Choice- a completely VEGAN dog food whose primary ingredient is soy and isn’t even manufactured in the Unites States. Am I somehow misunderstanding your vegan message when you are spending millions year to produce and market a food for pets that contains NO MEAT? When you attempt to force a vegan lifestyle on animals as well as people?
I defy you, Wayne, to stand beside American farmers and conscientious breeders of purebred companion animals, in public, and state, I SUPPORT YOU.
I dare you. I double DOG dare you.
Dear H$U$, thank you for sending those cheap gloves to my father-in-law. I wasn’t aware he was wasting money on you. It won’t be happening again. I contacted a local rescue and he is now on their mailing list! Those cheap gloves are where you belong, in the trash!
How mentally challenged some people are!
—”I mean, I defy anyone to show me any statement where we say we want to eliminate animal agriculture.”
The HSUS opposes rodeos as they are commonly organized, since they typically cause torment and stress to animals; expose them to pain, injury, or even death; and encourage an insensitivity to and acceptance of the inhumane treatment of animals in the name of sport.
(And he thinks we are paranoid?)
I wonder if he knows how many head of livestock are bought each year from ranchers for seasonal rodeos? Would that not be trying to disrupt the agriculture business?
And I wonder if he know that over 2 million fans attended the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year? And that is only 1 event.
He should spend some of his down time studying.
I so wish it were a mere paranoid delusion. Those are so much easier to cure than killing off HSUS!
I don’t tweet but that looks like it’s from “SockTwits” and, if so, how very appropriate a name they chose for themselves!
Someone should leave a comment on the article in LA Times, linked above in “This has just got to make some at HSUS think about throwing in the towel.” Thanks!
David,
I think you should do a story on the Better Business Bureau here in Missouri. They are running all sorts of bad publicity in the newspapers right now about dog breeders here in our state, and are even telling everyone not to buy a MO puppy!! I know they are not the HSUS, but they are adopting the same policies as HSUS, plus they got their info from the HSUS, and animal rights groups with the same agenda! I am so upset that they are not putting in any effort to uncover the true story, and condemning every dog breeder whether they are excellent or horrible! I always thought BBB was a very reliable organization, but not anymore! Apparently someone from HSUS works in their office perhaps?? Hmmmm… They are also totally for this Puppy Mill Initiative deal that HSUS is trying to gather enough signatures to get on the Ballot this fall here in MO.
I love your website, and was high time someone did something like this, as you have already opened up a lot of peoples eyes! Thanks so much!!

Sadly the Ohio humane thing was at the pet expo this weekend in Columbus. I was BADGERED by volunteers because I was there working a booth all weekend. I had my two pet chickens there and the volunteers from them were upset that I would allow people to handle a chicken (I do volunteer work for a parrot rescue, and you can’t expect your parrots to like everyone, but my two chickens are great with even kids). Every time they came up they would start to talking and tell me I didn’t care about the chickens in factory farms blah blah blah… I told them issue 2 was going to work on those “issues”.
I had one guy who was sitting at a booth spitting mad, and I think I successfully drove the people away from him because he turned it into a yelling match from his end, while I was calm and collected.
