Humane Bites #43: HSUS Wants to See Ferocious Bears Romping Down Hollywood Boulevard
Daily clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail me with submissions for tomorrow.)
- Memo to Jennifer Fearing: If only 1% of Californians hunt bears, that's still 37,000 hunters (and they're all that's keeping 40,000 Yogis and Boo-Boos from snacking on HSUS donors)
- Here's a thinker: If the Supreme Court had upheld a ban on animal cruelty videos, would it have put PETA and HSUS out of the undercover film making business?
- Would Carrie Underwood have carried it off without HSUS stuffing the "fan" ballot box?
- Another Iowa journalist schools Wayne Pacelle: "Transparency Is Everything"
- Is Wesley J. Smith ever wrong about anything?
- Not new, but worth reading anyway (from "no kill" shelter advocate Nathan Winograd)
- Your Daily Shelter: San Diego Humane Society and SPCA (Donate. Volunteer. Adopt.)

The thing one must always remember about vegan Jihadists is that they think “The Lion King”, “Bambi”, “Jungle Book”, etc. are documentaries.
Some of these wingnuts have actually come out and said that animals like bears and wolves would “happily embrace a vegan lifestyle” if not “forced” to eat meat because of “encroachment by humanity”.
It’s true… These lunatics are so totally divorced from reality that they actually believe carnivores only eat meat because we Evil Humans (shudder) “force” them to do so.
Interesting observation, BadKarma. I wonder if that is result of “non schooling”—a now popular disconnect whereby parents refuse to send their children to school so they can learn what they wish! Jungle Book and Lion King and HSUS sound about right.

37,000 hunters- and even if every single one of them had a valid bear permit, there is no guarantee they would even get a bear.
one average, there is one bear home invasion reported every single day in CA. these are not cute and cuddly woodland creatures, these are aggressive animals who will attack.
there are already existing rules about sows with cubs and other restrictions built in- HSUS representatives make it sounds as if there will be a free-for-all in every city and county across the state.
it is the residents of the state who are face to face with these bears and in harm’s way calling for population control, not hunting groups.
