how nice that HSUS isn’t “bailing out of Nashville”.

too bad they aren’t bailing it out either. it’s ok for them to go there and make money but goodness forbid their pension plans should suffer if they gave any out to help.  oh, I know- they’ll just promote veganism and mandatory spaying and neutering, justifying it with “if there weren’t any of these animals there to begin with they wouldn’t need to be rescued!”

brought to you by the same ppl promoting birth control for WILD animals too. just gotta micromanage the whole animal kingdom, don’t you Wayne?

danielle, get a grip. the point of expo is to help shelters through education, networking and exposure to companies that can help them. more than a thousand people from shelter go there and have for years, so they must be doing something right. and if you think nashville isn’t happy to have money coming into their damaged economy, well, ask ‘em. It would have been a whole lot more damaging to Nashville to lose all the money that the conference and all the attendees will bring in.

Why should HSUS arrive in a flood ravaged Nashville when our President won’t even go to Nashville to show moral support for the city.  No photo ops for the press to spread across the nation as it is far more important there is an oil spill in the Gulf.  But hey I’ve not seen HSUS there either and it is being well covered by the press.  But then again they are just now gearing up.  Next is to please help the animals.  So like the government, we do something after the fact….like dated on HSUS website May 6th, 17 full days after the fact.

It would seem to me that the efforts of the HSUS to create a ballot initiative bypassing the recently votor approved Ohio Livestock Care Standards board is a ripe opportunity for an editorial comment in one of the countries major newspapers.  The lawsuit by the HSUS challenging the legality of the Ohio law prohibiting people who “are not residents” from circulating petitions for signatures seems like a perfect example of the “strong arm” tactics employed by the HSUS across this country to force their agenda on everyone, regardless of the support.  Every state, including the great people (residents) of Ohio, should be able to determine if the ballot initiative has merit and be allowed to manage the process.  If Ohioans don’t support the ballot intiative, then that is their decision.  Don’t let professional out of state signature collectors on the HSUS payroll manufacture support when none exists from the residents of the state.

I wonder how long it will be before the HSUS hits the airwaves to collect money for the “helpless animals in Nashville”?  Given the lack of accountability from previous collection efforts related to natural disasters, this would seem a ripe opportunity for the HSUS to line their coffers with more funds from a sympathetic public.  Someone has to pay for their convention, right?

I was wondering the same thing, Michael.
