Humane Bites #56: This Makes as Much Sense as Minnesotans Writing Laws About Citrus Growing
Daily clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail us with submissions for tomorrow.)
- Farm editorial about HSUS-sponsored livestock legislation: "What we don't need are urban representatives in Congress writing legislation on matters they know very little about"
- We get the feeling a certain pet retail chain is going to have one heck of a lawsuit against a certain cable channel
- USA Today gets it right: HSUS supports a ban on the sale of pythons because it "opposes the possession of [all] wildlife as pets"
- Hurry! There's still time to enroll in "Humane Society University"! (That's the school HSUS isn't allowed to run, but does anyway...)
- Your Daily Shelter: Minnesota's Martin County Humane Society, the latest pet shelter to point at HSUS and exclaim "We're not them." (Donate. Volunteer. Adopt.)
Comments
I have a question. Which tv channels, or broadcast companies are the HSUS affiliated with? I suspect animal planet. Maybe some calls to local cable providers will help. After many people wrote asking for RFD-TV, many providers offered it in small town rural america.

Only 2 of 31 claims filed by HSUS “Plaintiffs” remain against Petland; the other 29 were dismissed by the Court. Hunte was dismissed and never moved forward in court. I would ask jurors on the Petland case, if appropriate to the remaining charges, if they watched, heard or saw any of such video produced. Then get rid of them.
And I believe the plaintiffs only are plaintiffs because HSUS solicited plaintiffs by asking people to fill out the snag a breeder 6pg form for info on whether you were not happy with your animal from a pet store, if it got sick, etc. Best Friends out of Utah was doing the exact same thing. Soliciting.
