If I understand you correctly, Barbara, I have to agree. My experience with all the shelters these days is they back HSUS policies, same for SPCA’s and they are stealing animals right and left…..for all reasons but the TRUE ONES. Austin Humane Shelter? wasn’t it, was supported here last week. In the meantime they appear to have seized 13 Chis and the pics we saw showed nothing bad…they SAID they had “conditions” and were too thin (subjective) but would re ready by Sat for 10 to LEAVE for a FEE (N/S?) the door tho was left open for the VET who diagnosed possible “conditions” to make her living off of them after helping take CUSTODY?! of them….too much of that going on these days…..we all hold our collective breaths!
I have to take my dog who I’ve had for 2 yrs. to a shelter.
He barks “too much” and our neighbors reported us to the police.
Now we have to pay $173 plus get rid of him
I really want to leave it at the Austin Humane Society shelter (no kill)
How do i prepare the dog as well as myself?
Just to clear things up, my mom has to pay $173 because she got a ticket for “animal noise”.
She doesn’t want to get in any more “problems”, therefore she wants to give him up.

I’m sorry, I will NEVER donate to any group that even has the word humane (excluding Humanewatch) in it or links to such groups.
I find them in support of HSUS policies and usually promote seizures. I feel badly for the animals in their care but there must be more investigation into the shelter before they would get any of my money.
They usually promote thru explotation and all that, which is totally unnecessary and uncalled for.
When that stops, I’ll reconsider.
Guess you could say I’m opposite PETA and AR and fully believe that to be correct! The other side of the coin so to speak.
Get it right or don’t bother me!
