Meet your HSUS State Director
Last week we added something to the HumaneWatch Document Library: a U.S. map that appears in this spring’s edition of Shelter Pages, a publication that the Humane Society of the United States describes as a “directory of products and services for sheltering professionals.” (In reality, Shelter Pages reads more like a break-even advertising project for HSUS.)
At press time, this map showed the last names of each of HSUS’s current “State Directors.” It’s helpful to think of these staffers as salaried lobbyists in the state capitals who work exclusively for HSUS. At present, there are 40 of them.
Since HSUS State Directors seldom have the sort of public profile of a Wayne Pacelle, we thought it would be a good idea to list them here, along with the state where each one works—just so concerned citizens can recognize them when they visit their elected representatives.
In this gaggle of HSUS government-affairs workers, you’ll find some honest, well-meaning advocates. You’ll also find:
- a former PETA Legal Fellow;
- a former employee of both PETA and the Farm Animal Rights Movement;
- a “SuperVegan” blogger;
- the founder of a “vegan” Internet mailing list
- a member (by marriage) of an Illinois political dynasty;
- an animal-raid lawsuit defendant;
- a former Miss West Virginia;
- a kinda-sorta actress;
- a former animal-rights fundraiser;
- a finance lawyer with “seven cats, three quarter horses, two dogs and 10 pet chickens”; and
- a “token Republican.”
The full list of HSUS State Directors is after the jump.

The former PETA member and Farm Animal Rights Movement member is now holding “grass-roots” meetings in Michigan. A “new” resident of Michigan, I think it is tome for those of us who have lived in this state for decades to send her packing.

Here’s a link to the CA Secretary of State’s lobbyist database. There’s a picture of McGrath there.
@connie RIGHT ON!
Odd that my state director has a PhD in English since that has NOTHING to do with animals.
Does anyone else find it odd how so many HSUS directors listed here have degrees in matters such as political science and law, but very few in biology, zoology, or any other field that is directly related to animals?
Perhaps this could be the subject of further investigation for HumaneWatch.
Another benefit if you’re planning on to visit to a ugg boots sale is that these boots are actually so warm that you simply don’t actually need to use any kind of socks or leggings to appear comfortable and comfy in them and that, in my personal opinion, basically is very cool.
A fleece protector that’s inside the ugg boots enables you to take care of your pure uggs repair body temperature together with give the skin to inhale this is a very important factor on your common well-being if you want to run all over more often than once in a while.
It certainly was very difficult to discover virtually any proper ugg boots sale vendors lots of years ago and also to find the correct dimension you’d to count entirely in acquiring the boots online to be mailed to you personally coming from far away. All that seems to have since then developed radically since these ugg boots are getting to be a fashion craze that will easily be acquired practically anywhere everywhere.
ugg boots sale can be worn during equally winter season along with summertime It absolutely was a significant worry a couple of years back around the legitimateness in the ugg boots sale since there initially were loads of counterfeited and fraudulent ugg boots on the market from various vendors to brew a earnings from selling the ugg boots.

What’s funny is that we in SC have no HSUS state director so when I have questions, I turn to neighboring state directors. But they refuse to talk to me on the grounds that I am not in their state.
