Well, here it is.
Or at least an unconfirmed draft of it that's making the rounds.
Let the Thursday morning quarterbacking begin.
We'll be adding more analysis today, since more details are emerging.

The Farm Bureau would have no say over those provisions, which leads me to believe it was Strickland’s choosing.
I, too, am very disappointed in the Ohio group. I know people in my breed that have very high quality animals and I’ve used more than one of their dogs on some of my own girls and as a Breeder/Owner/Handler (the same as the breeder in Ohio) in a breed where HIRED AGENTS do a majority of winning, we have both won due to wonderful dogs we have breed.
Does this mean we should stop buying products (meat, eggs, etc) from those people? Harder for my friend than for me I think but, we’re going to all be done for with this type of thing?
I’ve required so many to be altered when I have let them go for pets and kept ownership or co-ownership on many others even if I did not ever use them in my breeding program (or allow anyone else to breed them AS WELL) that I am sure I will go down when it hits my state.
GET YOUR NEXT PET NOW because in a year or 2 there won’t BE any more high quality animals!!
I so agree with you Cynthia, we still have to stick together and fight this out…It is very close to getting to the point where someone is gonna get hurt.. I am angry as should every dog breeder in AMERICA..it is not a crime to love, breed and show dogs…it never has been..so why should it be now??? Because of some sick idiots that want to push their agenda and change the world….If you don’t like what I do..then don’t do it…I probably don’t like what you do either, but it is none of my business. When did people become so nosey? When did love thy neighbor become hate they neighbor? It would be so nice if everyone who did not like America in the 60’s and want to change things would just move to another country…Who ever put it in your minds that you could control other people.. You animal rights people are sick sick sick people..I pray for your souls and you will pay dearly on judgment day!
I see the word “recommendation” used a lot. The way I read these statements is that from this agreement recommendations will be made to the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board to support or push for the listed regulations. For example I did not see where it said that the OLCSA is “Required” to tell the Ohio Dept of Ag that they CAN NOT issue a permit for the construction of a laying house containing battery cages. Only that there is a “recommendation” for the board to push the Dept of Ag not to allow new construction with these types of cages. Unless I am allowing my opinion of this agreement being of no good for anyone directly involved to cloud my ability to interpret this compromise and only reading what I want it to say.
Yes Bobbie it says recommendations but it puts more than a foot in the door for the HSUS and they will keep pushing and if they can’t get their way it’s lawsuits and smaller laws that get changed with in a short time that make bigger differences not to say they are not supporting some of these political people to get their way also
Mark, I have to tell you I am NOT cut out to be a CRIMINAL and they are all DETERMINED to make me one…...I’m not going to be happy that way…it needs to STOP….CEASE AND DESIST…....

I am a retired hobby breeder who took great care to place the few puppies that I bred in life-long, loving homes.
I have been fighting new kennel policies in our county which are obviously initiated through HSUS. We have tried to get farmers on board in our fight, but they will not, although they nod their heads in sympathy to our fight and acknowledge the danger of HSUS into all of our lives. This has been frustrating for our dog breeders and owners, as we believe we are only the first line of defense against the animal rights movement. When we fall, the rest of them will not be far behind.
Now, I have read Ohio’s SB 108 as posted on your site. Actually, I did not read it all, as the further I read, the sicker I became. Finally, I just quite reading it altogether.
I am not an attorney, but it certainly seems to me that Farm Bureau has SOLD OUT dog breeders in Ohio. They have made it temporarily better for themselves at the expense of dog breeders.
Correct me if I am wrong. PLEASE tell me I am wrong in this assumption. It is enough to make me want to quit fighting. If you can’t trust your “friends” who can you trust?
What is wrong with people in our country? Shame on these self-centered people who cannot fight a battle for the common good of everyone.
