Understanding HSUS
Ever since we introduced the wildly popular "Seven Things You Didn't Know About HSUS," HumaneWatchers have been asking us when we would roll out a sequel. Well ... today's the day!
We're proud to release version 1 of "Understanding HSUS: A Guide to the World's Richest Animal Rights Group." This is a must-read for anyone who cares about the growing role of the animal rights movement, and the eroding role of animals, in American society. (Here's a direct link to the PDF.)
"Understanding HSUS" provides a brief look under the hood of HumaneWatch's philosophy. While "Seven Things" was a Just-the-facts-Ma'am research document, this handout should make you think. Why has HSUS become so powerful while PETA's influence has shrunk? How can you tell if an idea promotes animal rights or animal welfare? And what's HSUS's long-term goal?
All this and more awaits you in a compact format that's easy to digest and full of "Now I get it!" moments.
We're always happy to hear suggestions about future projects. If there's something you would find particularly useful to have, just let us know! In the meantime, wouldn't "Understanding HSUS" make a perfect addition to your Facebook wall? (We thought so.)

Thanks, Humane Watch, for your new handout. It will be handed out to every County Commissioner and state representative in our county, as well as law enforcement officials. A personal, face-to-face delivery. That’s the only way to get the message out and it doesn’t take that much time to do it.
Imagine if just one person in every county of our country did the same thing. It would certainly be more powerful than the millions of dollars that H$U$ uses each year to promote their agenda of a human existence without animals.
Let’s share this wonderful document everywhere!

I’m wondering if there is more info regarding your remark that HSUS was building 250 homes in 2009? What the heck is the deal on that? Did they get the approval to build them and add on to their huge complex? Just when I think I’ve heard it all you drop another bomb that just blows my mind. Who are these people and how do they dare? Why aren’t they in jail? It doesn’t look as if it would take much to convict them of fraud. Once again I thank you for being on top of this issue. Here I am and a lot of others, scratching for gas money to help with another transport while these people are sitting on what to them must be a gold mine. Something is very wrong with this picture.
