Gowri Koneswaran

Gowri Koneswaran is HSUS's director of animal agricultural impacts and a program manager for the Farm Animal Welfare division.

Arguing against livestock farming in a 2008 conference on global warming, she argued, "There is already a growing list of critical reasons to shun industrial animal agribusiness, and that sector's starring role in climate change is yet another. Choosing non-factory farmed products and reducing consumption of meat, eggs, and milk are two important ways to help lessen the devastating effects of animal farming on climate change."

She graduated from George Washington University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in English and later received a law degree from the University of Arizona.
