Andrew Rowan

Andrew Rowan is executive vice president for operations at HSUS and CEO of Humane Society International. He is the director of HSUS's Pain & Distress Campaign, an initiative to end research practices that harm laboratory animals by 2020. He also serves as president of the HSUS Wildlife Land Trust board of directors. 

In 2002, he received the Henry Spira Award from the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing for his work to reduce the use of laboratory animals in medical research. In addition to his positions at HSUS and HSI, he also in an adjunct professor at the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine; a senior fellow at the Tufts Center for Animals and Public Policy; and a faculty member at the Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing.
