Sarah Speed

 Sarah Speed is HSUS’s Pennsylvania State Director, responsible for all legislative and lobbying activities in that state. (Click here for HSUS's Pennsylvania-specific Facebook page.)

Before joining HSUS in 2007, Speed was a lobbyist in California for animal-rights legislation. She took the lead in the passage of Pennsylvania House Bill 2525, which added new regulations to Pennsylvania’s dog-breeding laws.

Speed also serves as executive director of Bringing Animals Restitution and Care, which offers psychological services for people convicted of animal abuse.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in American literature and cultures from UCLA and a law degree from the University of San Diego.
